MudLark: News

Nest arrived the day before Thanksgiving. When the first disc was taken out of the package and the surprise birdies jumped out of the tray, there was a long, spontaneous "Ooohhh!" from the three kids standing around watching. Nine-year-olds love it and so will you! Craig Ferris did a stellar job on the cd graphics, and the mastering job done by Jason Andrews at Studio E in Sebastapol will warm your soul, your heart, and your ears.

Landon Christensen, the Davis Enterprise music critic, gave Nest a glowing review in the Davis Enterprise on Thursday, November 29.

MudLark has been busy preparing for the Nest release extravaganza party at Muir Commons on December 8th. It's been fun to play so much together again, and killer t-shirts and totebags are coming down the pike for next weekend. Check out our products page...

And come celebrate with us at the release party! It will be an intimate night - Satinder will make a samovar full of his famous Indian Chai tea, and there will be chocolate pudding and gummi worms for the early birds. We'll play a couple of sets of music and tell some stories from the creative trenches, and there will be a thousand cds for you to take home...

What a venue! The folk fairyland was strung with twinkle lights and supplied with homemade treats galore. It was the classiest outhouse concert ever seen round these parts, thanks to our generous hosts and the well-behaved audience members in attendance. We scavenged words and phrases from our listeners, in exchange for funky door prizes. Here are a few samples of what they gave us:
--"Sweet music with just a touch of the odd."
--"Songs of meaning and moments of hilarity."
--"A subtle treasure."

We tried out our brand new full length concert program on a packed house of 32 people. They laughed. They sighed. They applauded with gusto. They devoured snacks at intermission. We had a wonderful time, and then met on Monday to think up ways to make our concerts even more entertaining. Future shows may include special guest appearances by top musicians not often seen locally, such as Crusty Withers and the Stiff Upper Lips, Boy Howdy and his band, Hog Jowl, and cutting edge performance art trio Eructation.
